The repair method of quartz stone color loss

Date:2019-10-19 11:05:35  Hits:579
In the home-installed stone, quartz stone is listed as a green decorative stone by the country for its characteristics of wear resistance, scratch resistance, high temperature resistance, penetration resistance, non-toxicity, no radiation and zero formaldehyde.  Quartz stone has the advantages of natural granite stone, beautiful marble, artificial stone color, etc. The use of organic resin as a binder makes the appearance of quartz stone look warm and round, removing the cold and blunt feeling of natural stone, and the color is more colorful.  The field of application is more extensive.  Quartz stone uses quartz sand with extremely high hardness as the filler, so that the hardness of the plate can reach up to 7 grades of Mohs hardness, which also brings certain difficulties to the later processing.

At present, the most common application of quartz stone is the cabinet countertop. The most headache for everyone is that it takes about one year to use on the countertop. The discoloration of the stitching seam directly affects the overall aesthetics of the cabinet.  Quartz stone splicing generally uses glue or marble glue dispensed by quartz stone manufacturers. The reason for discoloration may be the glue mixing or splicing seam bleeding.  How to fix it after discoloration, let's take a look at it!

Regardless of the cause of discoloration, first we should embed the gap that has changed color and clean the original glue.  Then, to adjust the glue, first use the same color resin glue of the manufacturer to add quartz powder to stir, add the curing agent according to the temperature and humidity on the site (the yellowing or glue line will appear when the curing agent is too much).  If the embedded gap is too large, the strip can be removed from the underside of the sheet for grinding and then inserted into the gap, and the prepared glue is filled in.  Because the glue will shrink after curing, the glue should be higher than the sheet surface.  Finally, it is polished. After the glue is completely cured, the polishing machine for natural granite can be used to grind the 50-3000 mesh water-grinding piece from coarse to fine, which will make the plate bright and smooth.  In use, attention should be paid to gap protection to avoid contact with dark liquids such as soy sauce, vinegar, etc., and clean up after use to increase the frequency of gap waxing.
